Blog: Cell phone rotting children’s’ brains?
Children under 10 have a higher absorption rate because their brains are still developing. For this reason, the electromagnetic energy the cell phone emits is likely to penetrate the brain of a child more deeply than that of an adult. All living tissue is vulnerable to these electromagnetic fields within the frequency bands used by cell phones.
Recommendations:
- Using headsets
- Use landlines and hands-free devices whenever possible.
- Keep your phone away from your body
- Using text messaging whenever possible
- Allow children to use a cell phone only for emergencies
- Avoid using a cell phone when the signal is weak or when moving
When the signal is weak or when moving at high speed the cell phone increases power to a maximum as the phone repeatedly searches for a new relay antenna.
Stats:
- Roughly 60 percent of American teenagers own a cell phone
- They spend an average of one hour a day talking on them
- 54 percent of 8 to12 year olds will have cell phones within the next three years.
